41st Annual Scottsdale Arts Festival

Sam has been invited back to the Scottsdale Arts Festival on March 11th, 12th and 13th. A two-time winner, once in Two-dimensional Media (2010) and once in Drawing & Pastels (2009), Sam’s work flourishes at this highly juried show. She is preparing a new series of work and is looking forward to the event. This will be her sixth year.

The Scottsdale Arts Festival is held each March. As Scottsdale's oldest arts festival (it began in 1971), the Festival draws 40,000 visitors in a weekend and is routinely ranked as one of the best art festivals in the nation. Proceeds from the Scottsdale Arts Festival help support the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts' education and community outreach programs.

Studio Sale a Success!

Our stdio sale was a great success - thanks to all of you who supported us! We will be starting up our monthly raffle again in February, "Give Art a Chance". Each month we will raffle off a piece of Sam or Poe's on the 'Bisbee After Five' 2nd Saturday. The artwork will be on display and tickets available in February.

Sam's Desert Views

Sam Woolcott's painting, "Untitled Storm 2010", capture's our uncommonly stormy and wet spring of 2010. Painting outside in the furious winds initiated a change from acrylic to oil paint and required a firm grip on the canvas! Facing the mountains of Mexico, she's caught the dance of clouds that makes living in Arizona an unforgettable experience.



"Spring Creek, February 2010" brings us the perspective of a bird in flight, a graceful sweep over grasses, a gateway to the San Jose Mountains of Mexico. This is the beauty and calm of the Mexican/US border.
