Sam Woolcott
First Place in Drawing & Pastels in 2009

returns to the
Scottsdale Arts Festival

March 12th – 14th
Booth #62

"Bisbee Reds" by Sam Woolcott

As a former architectural student, Sam Woolcott specializes in rendering the unique quality of Bisbee, Arizona’s township and surrounding areas. Buildings, arroyos, stairs and grasses populate her canvases: her bold and adventurous use of color and perspective capture the lively spirit of the town.

Sam has won awards in national art shows including First Place in Drawing & Pastels from the Scottsdale Arts Festival in Arizona in 2009, First Place in Painting and three-time Award Winner in Drawing at the Sausalito Art Festival in California and the Jurors Award at the Plaza Show in Kansas City, Kansas in 2005. Locally, Sam won Best in Show at the Bisbee Plein Air Competition in 2004 and again in 2007, along with winning the Bisbee Artist Award.

"Take a Chance on Art" ...again!

Our next 2nd Saturday Raffle is just in time for Valentine's Day. A lot is going on in Old Bisbee; the Chocolate Tasting at the Library, the Mystery Ball at Central School Project and a lively evening of music, dance and raffling at the SAMPOE Gallery. Imagine surprising your sweetheart with an original pastel by Sam Woolcott. Join us on
February 13th for an evening of lovin' fun!

Sam has been enjoying these winter days drawing and painting around the Mule Mountains. The currents of wind moving through the grasses and the contrasting colors shifting from morning til night continue to inspire new work.

For a $10 ticket you can take home this framed pastel of Sam Woolcott's. Stop by, call or email us at sampoegallery.com to purchase your ticket.
No need to be present to win!

Immediately before the drawing local dancers Abigail Stage and Purush Siberon will be performing to the live music of Donna Kihl at 7pm.

See you February 13th!

Thanks, good luck and Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanks to all who took "A Chance on Art" in January!

The raffle was a smashing success, especially for Diana Barton and Esther Harman who won Poe's fly, now affectionately known as "Junior Mr. Swatt."
